supernatural favor

the only partnership filter that matters when everything else is falling apart

the backdrop

we are heading into what may be the greatest economic depression in living memory. the indicators are everywhere. the behavioral shifts are visible on every social media feed, in every hiring freeze, in every conversation with people who can feel the ground shifting under them.

in a depression, most things that seemed important become irrelevant overnight. credentials. networks built on convenience. partnerships held together by shared upside in a bull market. all of it evaporates when the pressure comes.

what survives: relationships with people who facilitate flourishing. people who provide for the body (food, shelter, security) and people who provide for the spirit (faith, purpose, supernatural favor). everything else is negotiable. those two categories are not.

the filter

here is the principle stated plainly: the only people we should be spending deep partnership time with are people of supernatural favor. people that God puts in our path. people who reflect and possess something that cannot be explained by resume, network, or hustle alone.

what does supernatural favor look like in practice?

  • they feel heaven-sent. there is no other word for it. the timing of the introduction, the alignment of mission, the complementary gifting. it is too precise to be coincidence.
  • working with them allows them to be more of who they already are in the eyes of God. the partnership does not require them to become someone else. it amplifies who they were made to be.
  • they multiply the fruits of your mission. not through transactional exchange, but through alignment so deep that the work itself bears fruit that neither party could have produced alone.
  • they trust in Jesus Christ. this is not a cultural preference. this is a spiritual foundation. the work we do is grounded in the conviction that every person carries the image of God. partners who share that conviction operate from the same root system. partners who do not will eventually diverge at the root, no matter how aligned the branches appear.

can I get an amen.

the enemy's playbook

here is where discernment becomes essential.

if you were the enemy, who would you send? someone with horns and a tail? someone who looks obviously hostile? of course not. that would be too easy to reject.

the enemy sends someone who looks like a friend. someone sweet. someone charismatic. someone who wants to be helpful. someone who checks every surface-level box: they are talented, they are eager, they are available. they say the right things. they seem aligned.

the tell is not in what they present. the tell is in what they produce. do they produce fruit, or do they produce chaos? do they bring peace into the room, or do they bring a subtle turbulence that only becomes visible after the damage is done? do they protect the mission, or do they slowly erode it by redirecting attention toward themselves?

this is why supernatural favor is the filter and not competence. competence can be counterfeited. favor cannot. a person walking in genuine supernatural favor does not need to perform alignment. they are aligned. you can feel it. and when you cannot feel it, that absence is the signal.

the depression test

in a depression, the margin for error on partnerships collapses to zero. you cannot afford to carry dead weight. you cannot afford to invest months discovering that someone who seemed aligned was operating from a different spirit entirely.

the people who thrive in a depression are not the ones with the most resources. they are the ones with the deepest relationships. relationships built on genuine spiritual alignment, mutual supernatural favor, and a shared conviction that the work serves something beyond either party's individual ambition.

this is the filter. it is non-negotiable. every partnership decision runs through it.

why would you work with anyone that was not heaven-sent? why would you spend your most precious resource (time, energy, spiritual bandwidth in a season of scarcity) on someone who is literally on the other team, regardless of how friendly the packaging?

the principle

partner only with people of supernatural favor. people who, by working with you, become more of who God made them to be. people whose presence multiplies the fruits of the mission without requiring you to compromise the spirit of it.

everything else is a distraction dressed as an opportunity. and in a depression, distractions are fatal.
